How do i get Spikey hair?

I used to have natural spiky hair that stood straight up no matter how hard you tried to put it down it stood straight up even when it was wet. but then after 5th grade i had this obsessions with hats, and ater wearing alot of hats it went down. Now i'm in Highschool and i want my spikey hair back. how do i get my hair back to the way it was? By the way my ethnicity is Filipino so thats probably why it was like that? but before i had spikey hair it went down. so ow do i get it back to being spiky? right now i have long hair its about 6 inchesi plan to cut it.
