Relationship adviceee.?

So I like this boy. My best guy friend introduced us back in like November. And ever since then, me and this guy have texted and called each other, but never actually talked face to face. He knows I like him cuz I accidentally let it slip one day.. He didn't really tell me if he did or didnt like me back. He also does this text me one week, won't text me back for a while, then text me again. So it's this on again off again thing between us. He's seemed really flirty lately nd I was happy. And now he isn't talking to me again.. I don't k ow what I should do. My best friend tells me I should give up nd forget about him, and that if he's doing this on again off again thing NOW, it's bound to happen if we ever went out. But I feel like, if I wait nd am patient, SOMETHING goods gonna happen. I mean, I've never had a boyfriend nd im almost 16. I've been looking on the brightside for so long nd just thinking you know "I've been so patient. Im gonna get a boyfriend soon. I know it." and my aunt tells me to confront him and tell him straight up "if you like me, tell me. If not, then tell me nd stop leading me on nd giving me false hope." but idk what to do.. :/
